Untamed Sanctuary

[View from our backyard]

Venerating Your untamed sanctuary,

The craggy resonance of Serengeti foothills

Thrown before a brilliant azure sky;

The tempered distillation

Hanging upon every brutal whisper of the wind

Cleansing, like Your blood,

the minute crevices of human existence;

The livid heat of summer

Withdrawn repressively by frozen, quiet winters;

Ruthless beauty brandished as far as the eye can stretch its gaze –

Such affecting glory

Filling my heart with tender longings . . .
